COLOUR PALETTE RESEARCH...
After my final toile crit at university, I decided to make a change to my colour palette. Instead of focussing on skin tones, I wanted to show a range that had much more contrast and variety.
I wanted my collection to capture both my design ethos and my own style identity. Like anyone else, I tend to have an area of comfort when buying clothes. My wardrobe bursts with the colours... Black (or should I say the absence of colour). I love cooler tones such as, greys, muted blues and of course black.
So my research began, looking at identity I decided to explore different eye colours. And found my colour palette in a friends eyes, much like my own (except a lot more interesting) they are blue/grey with slight specks of amber browns.
This photo captures my development in motion, looking at the photograph and choosing fabrics.
I am now focussing on the application of; Muted blue, petrol blue, gunmetal grey, amber and gold. Fingers crossed, this will make for an interesting collection!

BURBERRY PRORSUM SHOW 2011
I have been extremely busy since last writing, doing all sorts of crazy things.
As you all knows London fashion week was in February and I was lucky enough to get my hands on an invite to the Burberry Prorsum show! Which was amazing. Christopher Bailey has yet again amazed us all with his A/W '12 designs.
Of course being at the show meant being within touching distance of all the beautiful celebrities and models, such as; Alexa Chung, Will.i.am, Rosie Huntington-Whitely,Eddie Redmayne, Clémence Poésy... To name a few.
Anyway here are a few photos taken.

Dazed & Confused; Januarys Issue
definitely reccomending this months dazed & confused magazine. i had a pleasant surprise when i came across a spread on one of my favourite artists of all time. feminist artist barbara kruger, i have been a fan of her controversial work since my first year of a-level art. she's seriously worth checking out. she hasn't actually got her of her own website due to other people having copyright of her name (pretty outrageous i know!) but here's one someone has made on her behalf; http://www.barbarakruger.com/
welcome to my blog beauties!
so, i thought i'd jump on the band wagon and start my own blog! i'm a student in sheffield studying fashion design! i love fashion & art so if you also share these loves feel free to follow! this is probably going to turn into a distraction from uni work, as facebook no longer suffices. i'll keep everyone posted on the briefs i have at uni and how i'm getting on so anyone currently studying fashion or thinking of studying fashion, this will give you some insight and hopefully turn into your little online look book & bible! :)
